Innovation in Air Conditioning

conception and engineering design
of components and equipments for

ADVANCED
THERMALLY DRIVEN
AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS

Purpose

Increasingly, distributed electricity generating plants are being installed. Small and medium-sized combined (natural gas + steam) cycle plants, as well as waste burning power plants, produce thermal effluents at temperature levels suitable for the operation of thermally driven air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. The global energetic efficiency of these plants is significantly improved when their rejected heat is further used in the operation of other systems such as air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.

New concepts for these thermally driven systems increase further the global efficiency of the use of primary resources, contributing to important reductions of total costs, increased capital returns and reduced environmental loads.

Our current R&D&D in this field has a threefold purpose:

  • Reduction of environmental loads by increased global efficiency in the use of the available resources;
  • Increased return on capital investment by extending the use of installed infrastructure, e.g. use of waste-burning based district heating networks in Summer, and
  • Contribute to the technological developments required for a future where only non depletable resources, such as solar energy in its various forms, are available.
